Evelyn Davis Courtney: I was surfing the surnames in GenealogyWise, saw the name Duerr, and thought "Hmmm, that name sounds familiar." Then I searched for Shoffner, because I thought that one of my Shoffners married a Duerr. I am descended from Michael Shoffner and Margretha Fogleman; they were my 6th gt. grandparents.

I have not done any research on the Duerr Family although Philabena Duerr was my 4th great grandmother. She was born in Germany about 1752; she married Michael Christian Shofner, Jr. in NC about 1774. She died in 1798 in Orange CO., NC the year her 8th child was born. Michal was born in Frankfurt am Main on 26 Jan 1752, the son of Michael, Sr. and Margaretha Fogleman. Hope others will join in and share their information.
