Sorry to tell you this but Sir Francis Drake,the Admiral had no children but 2 wives. He had some brothers you might be related to though. You might want to join the Drake Mail List on Rootsweb. Captain Francis Drake was in NH. & NJ. in the 1600's as well. Who were your Drakes in NH.? Thanks!

There is no Francis in my lineage. The Drakes from which I descended came from England to NH in the 1640s.

Hi again, I have researched a bit further about Drake and Vacher who lived in Milton Abbas, Dorset, England for near 200 years. Between late 1600s and late 1800s. I am still deliberating to find the connection between my great grandmother Drake and Sir Francis Drake. I only could go back to 1691.  The last person is James Drake. He was married to Ursula Vacher (1703-1766). There is over 150 years gap between Sir Francis Drake (1540-1596) and James Drake (1691-1766).

Are you connected to Captain Francis Drake of Piscataway,Middlesex Co.,NJ. as well? I am according to DNA test results. He was in NH. before going to NJ.

I'm a descendant of the NH Drakes. Family is from New England.

I'm a decendant of the Drakes. My grandmother was a Drake. I have history on the family going back to the 1300's.

Looking for information on Rebecca Drake and her sister, Lucy O. Drake.  The story that has been handed down is that they came over together for Lucy to marry Samuel S Legion. Looking for name of parents and the dates they came over. Rebecca was 12 yr old and was afraid to return to England alone. She stayed with Lucy and married Bennett Wall.  They lived and died in Johnston County, NC.
