Douglas family

Douglas is my maternal line.  I have my Douglas line from NC 1775 through Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas.

We have been unable to go back any further in NC due to the large numbers of John Douglases.  Could use some help here.  My 1775 John Douglas married a Lydia Ridgedale who died in Gibson County,  Indiana in 1850.
