Do you know if the surname Dorner represents its original spelling or are there possible variants. I ask because my maternal grandfather's birth name was DERNIER. He was left at twor months in the vestibule of the New Yourk Foundling Home in New York City in 1892. Although DERNIER is the spelling on his scanty records, I've been told that perhaps someone might have misheard its pronunciation.

My Dorner line is not a direct line, it is through marriages. I have not yet begun to do a deep research on this line.

If you would like to take over as Admin for this group, just let me know. If it shows only one member, that would be me, in this case if you would like to make your own group for this surname, I can delete this one and add my information to yours. Just let me know.
