Comment by Audrey Leonard on January 7, 2012 at 11:56am: Hi, my 3-g grandfather, Owen Donnelly, was born in Mullaghawn, Co Armagh about 1769. He was married to Margaret McMahon. 3 of their children, Thomas, Patrick and Ellen, came to the Westport, Leeds area of Canada. Ellen is my 2-g grand-mother. Would love to find Owen's parents and siblings! I've found so many spellings for Donnelly - Donley, Donnley, Donlly. Not sure which is correct but Donley and Donnelly seem to be the most used versions.

My maiden name is Donaly and have found Donelly the most common spelling in my family. GGreatgrandfather was Cornelius Donelly ~1820-1888. B. Ireland, D. Illinois. I'm still trying to find his town in Ireland, probably in Co. Kerry.
