I am stuck bad. I cannot ask any of my elders because they are all deceased. My oldest living relative is 64 years old who doesn't know much at all. I'm expecting twins and want to be able to tell them where they come from. Any help appreciated or can email me firstname.lastname@example.org Other surnames are Hollis/Wafford/Goodin/Adams/CantrellJohn Davis (born abt 1848) marries Lucy Hollis (also born in alabama don't know when) they move to Tennessee and have a son WILLIAM ELZIE DAVIS born July 31,1888 in Kenton, Obion County, Tennessee.William Elzie Davis July 31 1888 til Oct 28 1961 Dunklin County MIssouri) marries Mary L (born 12-22-1895 to 1-14-1964 Dunklin County) and has 3 children
Is anyone looking at the Davis Family in Pennsylvania, particularly Philadelphia area and Chester County? I'm trying to identify the parents of Ann R. Davis, b. 1811, supposedly in Philadelphia. She married Paul Conard of Chester County. Most likely he was a Quaker, but I have no information on Ann's religion. When Ann was widowed she lived with a niece in Camden, NJ (1890's).
hi there, i ahve been researching the Davis side....hard as its so common, MY gg greandfather was hamilton cloyd davis of belmont county ohio, he was married to a lillian taylor,
I am on the trail of one Isaac newton Davis born 1848, son of Lucinna (Lucinda?Lucy?) and John W. Davis born 1824. 1850 census has them in District 1, White, Tennessee. With other siblings.....
Latest news I am gathering is that he may have been adopted. I am hoping someone out there has more information on this.
I have been able to locate a Pamela Davis 1821 Ohio - 1901 Syracuse, Kosciusko Co., Indiana. Interred at Syracuse Cemetery (Find a Grave #36988754).
Her husband was Nathaniel Davis 1826 - 1888. He is interred next to her, along with their daughter Amanda Davis 1849 - 1872.
There is a listing of other children for them. Amanda, Pamela, Nathaniel (Jr. ?), Lida, and Malen at Find a Grave.
I guess thery are all interred there together. I'll check my genealogy list to see if I have any connections to them.
Hope this helps a bit.
Hey Jefferson Davis fans... I too think my late husband was also related to JD. I've seen an early picture of him and a picture of my husband were the spitin image.
So anyway I bought a book "Jefferson Davis by: William J. Cooper, Jr. and on page three there is a letter from JD to his sister Amanda. He's addressing their fathers death. Amandawas married to: David Bradford and they had two childrennamely, Benjamin and David. I'm sure there are more answers to your question in there but I haven't read it all yet. So go look in the Library or go buy it I'm sure it'll help.
