I am descended from Thomas Dale of Worcester County, MD, through his son the Reverend William Dale' who moved to Tennessee. From there, my Dales moved to Jefferson County, Illinois, and then to Texas, New Mexico. I am interested in the connection from Maryland to N. Ireland, and perhaps Scotland??

Hi Margaret, yes she did have a good name We have not traced our roots back into England, just know he was born there, his brother James b. in Scotland but they came to America from Ireland, their sister Martha had already entered into America before they did and was married to a John McKnight of Cecil Co. Maryland. I hope you will be able to open this site of one of my genealogy pages: http://www.geocities.com/jud54/james.html Please highlight, copy and paste Do enjoy as I love to put genealogy web pages on the internet...............Judy

Hi Judith,
My Dale family originate from Audley, which is a small mining village near to Newcastle Under Lyme in Staffordshire. The furthest I have got back in my tree is 1722 to my Gt Gt Gt Gt Gt Grandfather Abel Dale. Where about in England was your John Dale born? We have several Johns but none as early as the 1600's. Your Mother has a good name! I was named after my Mother's Grandma.

Margaret, I was surprised to see that name, my mother was Margaret Dale. I do not have this Dale that I know of , but my John Dale was born in England but in the 1600's. His family may be related to yours, do you have anyone in the earlier timeframe that we may compare notes with? Thank you, Judy Dale Coykendall

I am trying to find any information about John Dale, born in Halmer End, Audley Staffordshire. He was born in 1839 and was the son of Joseph Dale and and Mary Rowley. His mother died in 1847 in Audley and his Father remarried to Elizabeth Keen in 1848. The family emigrated to America in 1869 with their son Wilford and I feel sure John came with them. They settled in Utah but Wilford later moved to Montana. Wilford was also known as Wilfred. He is mentioned in a book called Progressive Men of Montana, where he is called Wilfred
