Does anybody know if any County Cork coroner inquest papers survived the 1922 fire and are archived someplace? I am interested in a drowning that occurred in Lissane, near Drimoleague, in February 1903. The death record says the coroner was R. Neville. The Southern Star news archives do not mention this particular drowning, though R. Neville (I think he was Richard Neville) was the coroner for another drowning in Ballineen that occurred around the same time. I have already googled, and have not found anything at NAI that mentions Cork inquests specifically. The email I sent an inquiry to at corkarchives.ie archivist@corkcity.ie bounced. I am now trying cork.heritage@corkcoco.ie but if anybody knows anything about coroner records I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Is anybody connected to Michael Driscoll and Johanna Collins of Currabeg, Castlehaven?

Looking for their marriage. So far I have been unsuccessful with PILOT.

Daughter Hanora was born 20-Oct-1890. In the 1901 census Michael in Currabeg (Castlehaven North DED) he is a widower. Nora is missing (I think I know where she was). The oldest child listed in 1901 is Helena, age 19. The youngest is 6. That would put the family years around 1882-1895.

I searched http://irishgenealogy.ie and found a son older than Helena, Jeremiah, baptized 16-Sep-1880.

I've tried searching PILOT with reasonable variants of Johanna as well as Honora: Hanora, Hannah, Ann, Joan. There are an Honora Collins and a Michael Driscoll listed in Dunmanway in 1878 but they weren't married to each other. Argggh!

Does anybody have Barnane in their family tree? That is a very West Cork name. It may be anglicized as Bernard.

Johanna Barnane married Humphrey Collins of Lissane, Caheragh 15-Feb-1820 in the old chapel in Drinagh. We think Johanna and Humphrey are my gg-grandfather Michael's parents - the problem is we cannot find a baptismal record for Michael. From a death record we think he was born 1822. Johanna's and Humphrey's children were baptized in Caheragh: Catherine 2-Dec-1820; John 18-May-1824; Honora "Norry" 17-Dec-1829; James 7-Aug-1833; Jeremiah 7-Dec-1835. The only marriage/baptismal witness of relevance is a Mary Barnet/Barnane.

Besides the son Michael we think that Humphrey also had a brother Michael and that Johanna Barnane was a baptimal sponsor to his son James, 1-Feb-1829.

It is possible that Johanna died and Humphrey remarried and had more children with a Mary Brien.

I am aware of a few Barnanes in the Drinagh tithe applotment. After that, the trail grows cold as I haven't yet looked around in Dunmanway, Clonakilty, etc.

My Mary Ann O'Connell born 1841 is also from County Cork and came to the US.She married George Anderson in Dubuque Iowa in 1860.I'm wondering if she's related to Ellen O'Connell

I'm interested in a village or township called "Kilflynn" from which a Margaret Walsh (latterly Mrs. Torrey) emigrated in the 1860s.

I would really appreciate some help if possible. I have been doing research on my own for about 8 months now. I am looking to find the place of birth for my husbands great grandfather. I have quite a bit of info but have hit a wall with the location. This is the info I already have:
Great Grandad:
Patrick J. Sullivan DOB 2/27/1861 Co. Cork
He arrived in Boston on 5/1/1883. The only ship I can find out of Ireland, Queenstown, that year to Boston is the Catalonia which stopped in Liverpool as well.
He was Naturalized 9/6/1890. He married Annie Mulcahey in 1895 and died in Portland Maine October of 1899.
His parents were Jeremiah Sullivan and Margaret Sullivan. I know this is a lot to ask for help but I am at a dead end and would REALLY love to get this done for my husband and his family. Please feel free to email me if you have any ideas or help.

Does anybody have Cahalane ancestry from the Skibb area? If so, I'm looking for a Bridget (Biddy) Cahalane, married to Michael Hurley of Coolnagrane, had sons:

John, bap. 23-Feb-1839, d. 1-Apr-1908 (my great-grandfather)
Patrick, bap. 2-Mar-1841 (not positive about this one)
Daniel, bap. 31-May-1843
Michael, bap. 15-Jan-1849

My family doesn't know anything about Bridget. I am guessing she came out of Kilmacabea civil parish. If you know anything about Skibbereen Cahalanes please let me know!

Looking for descendants of Morty Hourihane of Clohane, sons Morty, Owen(Eugene), Tim, and John. That is what I think their family relationship is.

The are in the Caheragh Tithe Applotment (1827).

I am descended from Owen and I have a family tree chart.

They spread around in that same area. I am aggregating data at Shared Tree.
