Enlisted Nov 1, 1861 Grenada, MS and again 1863 in Richland, MS.

Part of the surrender May 1865, Grenada. Listed residence as Eureka, MS. 
I photographed his headstone on Fri in the Magnolia Cemertery, Beaumont, Jefferson Co, TX

 

 

From the research I did, he married Eugenia BUTTS and they had a daughter, Julia Brooks Fowler who married Thomas Edd SCHLEY.

If you have more, you can post it since someone may come looking. I was in the Magnolia Cem on Friday and his was one of the headstones I photographed. There was another CSA headstone and I will post it as well.

Was he kin to 1830's Pass Christian, Miss., merchant John Duncan Fowler who wed a daughter of 3rd U.S. Infantry, Col. Gilbert Christian Russell, Sr.? Jim Miller, Southport, N.C.
I could not read the mother's name on the 1860 census ..looked like "Harry" so it may have been Harriet but the father's name was Harrison. They were in Miss.
