I have a copy of the hardcover book, "This They Remembered, 1861-1865." It is a compilation of "The history of the four companies and those in other companies, who went from Oglethorpe County [GA] to serve in The War Between the States:

The Gilmer Blues
The Oglethorpe Rifles
The Tom Cobb Infantry
The Echols Artillery"

There is no index, but occasionally there are rosters listed. If you have an ancestor in one of these companies, I will see what the book has on them, if anything. Post the names here so we can pool our resources.

I have ancestors from GA, don't know if they could be in any of your book. They also traveled to Ala so they may have been in either state at the time.

Names:
SS Saxon (Sanford Samuel, or Samuel Sanford Saxon),
Elijah Adams (GA or AL)
Elisha Adams (twin brother to Elijah, thought they may be together, make them easier to recognize)
William Stephen Cross (Habersham Co)
Henry Cross (brother)
Miles Cross (another brother, made shoes for the soldiers)

THANKS!
Sorry, Sherry, I did not see any of your names in the rosters. It's pretty specific to recruits from Oglethorpe County, GA.
