Hello everyone,

I am new to this group and am wondering if it is still active.  Is anyone out there?   My main area of focus is Barbados and Guyana.  Hoping to meet some researchers with the same areas of focus.

St. Thomas USVI 

We visited the Caribbean Genealogy Library in 2013. It was alive and well and for a small library was busy.

Looking at two selected census: most common birthplace=St Thomas, 2nd most common birthplace, another island in Caribbean...

What a surprise to find 5 books on Barbados on the shelf in Los Angeles, California Family History Library!

If you have any connection with the Rey family, there is a Post on the Caribbean Surname Index which includes the name Govia (which I always thought was a name from Guyana).

For Bradshaw there are several Posts for Barbados, St. Vincent and Grenada... I encourage you to register on the Index and ask your questions directly.

I am researching the family names of Bradshaw and Govia. My mother is a Govia from St. Vincent. Most of the family that I know lives/lived in the states. I look forward to using this group as a way to connect with others from the carribean.
