Alison, I am a descendant of the James Cantwell/Ellen Byrnes line of the extended family, my Great Grandfather was Thomas Michael, Grandfather was Clement Austin, my father Thomas James then me Antony Michael (Tony).  I have been tracing the tree on my own over the last few years when I stumbled onto Robert Cantwell's webpage and there was the whole Australian family laid out - I had been pretty accurate, but I had no idea what anyone looked like until I saw the photo of James and his sons.  I had visited John Lawrence at the War Memorial in Canberra, obtained the WW1 records for JL & Henry Joseph, and read the Unit History of 3 Bn, but knew nothing else about them.  It has been a very exciting week of discovery for me.
