Hello, I'm a 20 year Family Historian preparing to work as a Professional Genealogist, (probably on the side). I'm about halfway throught the NIGS certification program in Canadian Genalogy (about 20 courses done). I live in Ottawa Ontario. I'm active in FB groups and happy to help as I can with questions in this area.

Looking to learn more of my ancestor Hubert Charles MARTIN born Frome, Somerset, England in 1877 who arrived Montreal in 1907.He died at Saskatchewan Hospital, North Battleford on 26 Feb 1952 and was buried in the hospital cemetery on the 29th. I possess a copy of his hospital medical card which stated he was first admitted in 1930. There is a sighting of a Hubert C. MARTIN, age 44  in the census of Canada 1921 which is not readily available to me. Family lore suggests he did not marry.

I would grateful to learn anything of Hubert's life in Canada.

Daniel;

They might not have arrived in NB. They might have gone through Halifax, Quebec, New York or one of the Pennsylvania ports.

Al, I have and they have wonderful information. I have Anglican records for births, baptisms, mairages and deaths, from most of the eleven children. I know Mary Jane died while living with her daughter in Nortwest St. John NB, I have pictures of their grave stone which also has two of the children buried with them. I have copies of John Bells land grants etc. I just cannot find out when he arrived. I have searched at least a couple hundred ship manifests from Ireland and arrivals at NB Canada. Its not for lack of trying... Thanks for your suggestions. That is why I use forums. My 23 and me DNA test only told me so much. Daniel

Hello everyone, my name is Linda Christensen, from Preston, CT, USA.  I am taking a Social Media class and it was suggested that we join some of the sites that we are interested in.   I am working through the Lefrancois line -  my grandfather was from St. Zenon, Ontario and we also follow my grandmother, Agnes Boisvert.  Can't wait to see what I can find.
