Comment by Ken Holloway on June 27, 2011 at 8:16pm: My mother's maiden name was Calvin. Her ancestors lived in Mahoning and Columbiana counties, Ohio where she still lives. I have traced back to Joshua Calvin who was born in NJ 1742, moved to Ohio and died in Ohio 1832, and I've been to his grave. He was the son of Luther Calvin (1705-1778), who was the son of Stephan Calvin (1683-1764), who was the son of John Calvin & Dorothy Allen of Massachuets. It is supposed that John immigrated to Mass. Bay Colony from England, but no proof of that. I'll be glad to share any information I have and would appreciate anything other have to share.
