I don't have anyone to research in California, but I live here and have learned a bit about the California resources. I can help with lookups in the Historic Los Angeles Times and have a bit of experience in looking for obituaries in southern California.

Looking for spouse of George Riddell whose daughter was Bess Riddell. From letters recieved from my Grandfather I believe her name was Jenness, Jenet, or Janet? George F. Riddell is buried at Fort Roscrans Cemetery in San Diego, I also cannot find anything about his daughter Bess Riddell. According to letters and a photoalbum George was born in Palmyra, Wisconsin and lived in South America for a while, and then lived in Long Beach, CA and then during WWII he was a supply sergeant for the Army at the CA border he lived at George F. Riddell P.O. Box 92 Jacumba, CA.

My avatar's parents spent a year in Angels Camp before she was born in 1918 and after my father was born in 1911. Haven't found evidence of their time there yet.
