I have been in touch with Kerry Bartels of NARA (Laguna) and he sent me this note:

You mentioned there are others who are interested as well. If you
wish, you may tell them to send me an email to express their interest in
volunteering at our facility and I will place their names on the list as
well. Email can be sent to me at kerry.bartels@nara.gov or you can call
and speak to me at (949) 448-4931.

We are very interested in your application, and those of the others you
mention, and are very happy to hear of your interest.

Sincerely,

Kerry Bartels

So let's flood him with volunteers, all you IE genealogists & show him that we're as involved, knowledgeable, interested, and helpful as those folks they're leaving behind in Orange County!
