I'm looking for information on Tom Brewer born in Savannah, Hardin County, TN in 1900. He died in 1974. His parents were possibly Jesse Brewer and Ada Young. Tom married Gertie Lee McClain, daughter of Joe and Martha (Hollins) McClain. They moved to either Dunklin or Pemiscot County, MO. They had two sons, Carl Griffian Brewer and Willie Earl Brewer. Willie Earl is my grandfather. He married Mary Vera Viola (Jones) Wright. Willie Earl and Mary Brewer were my maternal grandparents. Willie Earl died in May 1995 in Hayti, Pemiscot County, MO. I have been stuck on finding anything on Tom Brewer for about 15 years now. If any of this rings a bell with anyone, please let me know. Thank you! =)

Trying to trace my Brewer family back from my grandfather, Menlo William Brewer in Lawrence County, IN. I believe he is descended from Mahlon Brewer of Claiborne County, TN, through David B. and Richard L. Brewer. Looking for information on Mahlon and possibly his father James?

Hi! My Brewers came to New York in 1642 from South Holland. They lived in Brooklyn and Schenectady, New York, also in Bergen County, New Jersey, then on to Mercer Co. KY, and Hendricks and Putnam Co, IN. (Then on to Kansas) The Brewers come into my tree with Daniel Levi Brewer (born 25 Sept, 1823 in Mercer, KY died 20 April, 1868 in Neosho, KS) who married Catherine Hedden (1824-1903) Daniel was the son of Daniel A. Brewer born 31 Aug, 1784 in KY and died 9 April, Coatesville, Hendricks, IN. Whose wife was Nancy Smith (1785-1859).
I wonder if our Brewers were Dutch or Norwegian!! There are several books that compile their move from South Holland to New York, some say they are Dutch, and some say they are Norwegian. And I have found several ancestors in my tree that were born in Nederlands, but that their family came from south Norway. I am wondering if these Brewers might be like them? See, Daniel Brewer's 5 gr grandpa Frans Sijmonsen Brouwer has his name in the Norwegian fashion (Sijmonsen, because he is Sijmon's son)so that makes me wonder if the family came from Norway to begin with. Has anyone else traced them back further?

I come from the Brewer's who settled in Perry County, Missouri by way of Kentucky and Maryland in the early 1800s.

My 2nd great grandmother Hopper was Elizabeth Brewer (April 1810-bef. 1880) born in North Carolina and died in Claiborne Co., TN. She married Livingston (1800-1880) either in NC or Claiborne Co., TN before 1831. Their daughter, Mary Jane Hopper married Mahlon Brewer (abt. 1829-May 6, 1864). I do not know Elizabeth's parents names. Mahlon's father was believed to Be James Brewer.
