Hello Amy, I found a mention of the marriage of Loring Bradley and Eliza James in an online ebook Vital records of New Haven, 1649-1850 (Volume pt. 1, page 49 of 51). While it does not give their parents, it does say they were married at Trinity Church on 7 Sep 1836 "by me Harry Croswell." I don't know if it is possible to access Trinity Church records, but it is something to consider. Best wishes in your Bradley searching! Barbara

Hello!  My Great Grandmother was Mabel Ena Bradley.  Her father was Charles Horace Bradley, and her grandfather was Loring Bradley, married to Eliza James.  Loring was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1813.  This is where I am stuck and can not find any information going any further back.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi Bradley researchers.! My Grandmother's maiden name was Bradley. My Bradley family lived in QLD and NSW Australia, but I am also interested in finding more from England. My Gr Gr grandfather George Charles Bradley was a hairdresser in Roma in outback QLD. George married in 1877 in the same location and also died in Roma in 1892. George's father was John Bradley (Also a hairdresser)and his mother was Elizabeth (nee NASH)

  It is thought the family came to Australia when George was a 7 yr old boy. George states he was born in Birmingham England approx 1834. I am not sure if George had any siblings It is possible the family may have also lived in Victoria Aust as well as other states. I am hoping someone can find something more on this elusive family from England.

Hi Bradley searchers. My Bradley is my grgr grandmother from S. C b ~1803 by name of Kissariah/Keziah/Keshiah/Kissiah/Kisiah etc. She married Thomas Tilman unknown place but about 1819-20 and had first child by 1820. They were in Arkansas, living by the rivers for about 19 yrs then went to Red River Co/Lamar Co Texas. Thomas was killed by Indians about 1842 and she was widow with several children still home. She married John Emberson of Lamar Co in 1850 May 9. She had a pre-nuptual with him. They divorced however in 1854 or 56 and he remarried by 1856. It was a nasty divorce from rumors.
She took back the name Martin and lived with her children off and on until her death after 1880 in Texas, probably Collin or Fannin Co Texas. She is in census with Son in 1870 and with Emiline Morgan in 1880, I believe.
Does this woman sound like she's from one of the families you know? She may have been native and they family here says she may be of the King Casiah tribes. I'm not able to prove much until 1830s..
Feel free to share. I'm open to all information. Her Bradley family may have come to Tn and on to Arkansas when she did.

Great Grandfather was George L Bradley b. abt 1863 in NC; looking for information on his parents, living with an uncle Thomas in 1870 and 1880. Mother may have been named Jane, no info on his father. Can anyone help?

My Great grandmother was Hattie Garfield Bradley. She was born in 1880 in Cheshire Connecticut, and her line in New Haven County, CT can be traced back to William Bradley b. 1505 and lived in Coventry, Yorkshire, England. I have several other Bradley lines who are also descended from this William through his Great Grandson William Bradley b. 1619 who was the immigrant to America. I am now doing research for a friend who also has Bradleys, but they are from Vermont. We are specifically stuck on Ajuna Bradley b. 1780 in Vermont. He m. Betsey Brimhall and had at least 2 sons- Freeman b. 1815 and Ajuna b. 1823. Freeman went to Ohio, then to Kansas. Can anyone identify the parents of Ajuna (1780)?

Thank you, everyone who has shared a Bradley family story, including James, who shared about his Bradley kin but also other Bradley stories. And especially the woman he dubbed St. Bradley. Indeed she was Amy Morris Bradley, 1806-1921, born in Maine. The Duke University Libraries have the correspondence, diaries, and records that document this New Englander's duties as a nurse at U.S. Sanitary Commission convalescent camps during the Civil War and her efforts to establish free schools for blacks and whites in Wilmington, N.C. directly following the war. My favorite Wilmington, N.C. Bradley was not my Bradley kin (ex-Quaker slave owners); she was post Civil War from up-North; I think her first name may have been Amy? Anyway, she started schools for ex-slaves; to me, she was St. Bradley.
