My g.g.g.grandfather was Obadiah Bostick b.1765 in Halifax, VA; d. 1825 in Russell, VA.  His mother was Keziah Bostick (apparently unmarried) daughter of William and Micha Bostick.  Does anyone know who his father might be?

Thanks, Bonnie

Hazel, I think I have been corresponding with Annabell on this, but I see you had the original question. My correspondence is below.

I accidentally deleted my first comment. My GGGrandfather was James Bostick, I have a copy of his manumission papers from 1800, The owner was John Bostick of Richland County (Columbia) SC. I am interested in discovering more about John Bostick,
I believe James later fathered children named James, John, Joel, Dicey and Martha. ,

Claibe Herman Bostick was the son of
Charles H. Bostick 1877-1947 was the son of
Caswell Harper Bostick 1833-1915 was the son of
James B. Bostick b. 1800
I don't have them connected back past James B. Bostick

Caswell Harper Bostick's wife Sarah Porter connects to another line in my tree as well.

My husband was John C. Bostick, his father Claib Herman Bostick was born in New Mexico in 1914. His grandfather was named Charles and I believe he was born in Georgia. His wife was Maud Holly, born in Oklahoma. They lived in Texas, mostly near the New Mexico border. I have not traced Charles back to Georgia.

My first husband was a Bostick. His family came to New Mexico and Texas (along that border) from Georgia. The family history was that the name was originall Bostwick. There are a number of Bosticks in the Hard Labor Creek area of Georgia. I have not researched this line, but my children will want any information others may have.

James and Sally were born as slaves and I am uncertain exactly where they were born. Addie was my GM and married Harrison Walker. My Dad always said that the WALKERS originated from SC. Harrison's Dad was Henry Walker and Henry was married to Mahalia McJunkins

I am researching James/Jim Bostic/Bostick(b. 1855) from Transylvania County North Carolina. Married to Sallie Smith(b.1861). I am able to find D/C for Sallie but unable to find out very much re James Bostic. I find the family in Transylvania Co with children but I want info prior to their marriage.
