I'd like to contact anyone who descends circa 1850's Ashboro, North Carolina, area Blevins. They may have had earlier Guilford/Rockingham Counties, N.C., Blevins connections?
Comment by Betty Jo Blevins on December 28, 2011 at 12:09pm I'm already a member of DAR. I am trying to find information on James Blevins who married Hannah Lyon (s) and his line for my husband SAR application. I did find his pension papers on Heritage Quest and hitting road blocks as to other documentatin that is required, marriage, birth, death records for him and the others in the line. The only sure things I have so far is my husband's birth certificate, our marriage license, my in-laws marriage and death certificates, an obituary for his grandparents (John William Blevins and Nancy Wilson). That is where the researching stop. Have not got copies of their death certificates as Kentucky doesn't seem to be able to find them. Also I'm trying to find obituaries on James Blevins and Pheobe Stephens. Can anyone help me. At present time we cannot travel to Kentucky and do the research ourselves.
Comment by Kathie Russell Volante on December 28, 2011 at 9:27am Seeking information on Frederick Blevins. He is buried in Wooster Cemetery in Danbury CT 1909. I can find no other record of him. There is also a Charles H. Blevins buried there who died in 1918.
My Great Uncle was named for Frederick Blevins and that is why I am trying to tie him to the Russell family of Danbury CT.
