I have photos of Hammett Cemetery, Yankee Lane Cemetery, where some of the McLaughlins are buried, and also a picture of James McLaughlin's grave if you are interested. I just recently received the probate records for William and Anna Hammett.

I too am descended from Matilda Elizabeth Best and James McLaughlin who came to Kentucky from Londonderry, Ireland. I am descended from their son Hiram A. McLaughlin b. 07 MAY 1808, your great-great-great-grandfather's brother from what I can tell. I believe James McLaughlin's birthdate might be 28 FEB 1769. That's he furthest back I can seem to find anything about my lineage.

I believe my John Best (b. abt 1810 in Westmoreland, PA - d. 21 Sep 1862 near DC) was the son of Elias Best (b. abt 1780 in Westmoreland, PA - d 8 Dec 1850 in Westmoreland, PA) and Nancy Archbold. Elias was the son of James Best (b. about 1845 England/Ireland) and Catrina Kroeson/Cruson/Cruzan.

My John married Elizabeth Monticue/Mounticue. Their son James was born 1 Jul 1851 in Beaver, PA and died 16 Jun 1918 in Shawnee County, Kansas.

My great-great-great-grandfather was their son, Samuel Best McLaughlin b. 17 Feb. 1813 in Kentucky. Looking for more info on this line.
