Comment by Da Von Lynn Bearden on July 18, 2012 at 12:28am Comment by Da Von Bearden. My father is David Daniel Bearden whose father was Edward Llivingston Bearden Sr. whose father was Daniel Boone Bearden. Edward Livingston Bearden Sr.and his wife Nancy had 9 children 6 girls and 3 boys. So Robert Lee his brother Roy Judson and.... Edward Livingston Sr.(my Grandfather). were 1/2 brothers. So your Grandfather and my paternal grandfather were 1/2 brothers. Our grandfathers had the same father ....Daniel Bearden..Right.!?
Comment by Ellen Rowan Taylor on July 17, 2012 at 11:42pm DaVon, who is your father? My mother was Evelyn. Actually, your brother is not the last of the Daniel Bearden's decendents. I have 4 surviving cousins, with the Bearden surname, who all have sons, so we have DNA out there. My grandfather Lee Bearden, son of Daniel and Mary Ann Robb, had 4 sons, 3 of them had sons, and lots of grandchildren out there. Did you meet Linda Bearden? She is the one who sent me the letters. There is also a Bearden family tree, but it isn't accurate. Jennie and I did not do well with the Bearden line. Joseph's father's name was John and he died in Taylorville Illinois somewhere around 1835. (I'm not looking at my database.) His wife's name was Sarah. I found the Blasingame connection, and Jennie was positive that was correct. I don't have enough proof for myself. Jennie's son, whose name escapes me, was also looking before she died. I have not talked to him for a long time so have no idea if he is still looking. We can talk tomorrow. I'm starting to confuse myself. :-)

Comment by Ellen Rowan Taylor on July 17, 2012 at 9:47pm Da Von, I think I'm losing my mind. I could swear that I just posted a comment. Of course we are the same family. Tell me your line. You must know that I am descended from Lee and Josephine. Where did you get the letter from Sarah Catherine? I am really interested in that Bearden information too. Tell me more. I know a couple of other people who are researching, and I knew Jennie Bearden Nau. I helped her some, when I lived in Fort Wayne. She was way beyond me at the time. What a darling she was!
Comment by Ellen Rowan Taylor on July 17, 2012 at 9:42pm Da Von, Hi. What letter do you have? I have a huge box full of the civil war letters, and I also have that copy of the letter, which is inaccurate. You are the first Bearden in my family who ever contacted me here! I'm excited to meet you.
Comment by Da Von Lynn Bearden on July 17, 2012 at 9:30pm Comment by Da Von Bearden. I also recently obtained a copy of an original letter written in Bloomington Illinois by John Goodheart to his wife Sara in 1861 and a copy of a letter written by one of the children of Daniel Boone Bearden listing marriages and children of grandparents and parents.
