My name is Reneé Huhtala-White. My great, great grandmother was Helen "Nellie" Susan Bancroft, born in Placer county, CA in 1857. Her father was William Bancroft, originally of South Windsor, CN, whose direct ancestors were John & Jane Bancroft, Puritans who came to America in the 1600's on the ship James. I have many photos, journals, cookbooks & all kinds memorabilia from the Bancroft, Hopkins, Wolcott, Brown & related families, including Nellie's 1878 wedding ring. Descendant of Earl(e) Bancroft and Roxana Stiles; my maternal gr grandmother was a Bancroft.
