Hi all,

just thought I would let everyone know that Cudo currently has an offer, in which you can purchase Family Tree Maker 2012 Deluxe Edition, with 3 months access to Ancestry.com, for only $24. The offer only has around 5 and a half hours until it expires (midnight tonight, 24/12/11), but I hope some of you manage to get in in time!

The link is: http://cudo.com.au/sydney/discover-your-family-tree-with-family-tre...

Happy holidays everyone!

Quite a few members of the list have joined the "Genealogists for Families" project started up by Judy Webster from Queensland.

Genealogists worldwide, and their friends and relatives, are working as a team to help small family businesses in low income areas.

Our motto is, 'We care about families (past, present and future)'. Already the Genealogists for Families project has 63 members helping 91 individuals or groups. It would be great if you'd join our team at http://ning.it/say644

More information can be found on the project blog http://genfamilies.blogspot.com/

Hi Linda,

My Richards that came out to Aus are Thomas b 1818 in Wendron m Johanna Bosanko b 1821 Sithney m in Sithney.  Simon Richards b1827 Wendron m Catherine Hocking in S Aus.  Martha Richards b abt 1815 m Thomas Gill in Sithney.  I have quite a lot on this family, Martha and Simon are siblings of Thomas who is my gggrandfather.  They all lived around the Bendigo, Castlemaine area.  Thomas and Johanna arrived in 1847 in Adelaide with 1 child, Simon arrived later also in Adelaide and I think that Martha and Thomas Gill arrived in Melbourne.  Hope this is of help, please let me know if they're in you husbands tree.

Regards Anne.

Hi Anne,

I have Richards from Cornwall, who settled in the Bendigo / Castlemaine (being miners!) area of Victoria. This is my husband's line and don't have a lot of info yet - or the time to do the research needed. There is a Cornish Society in both Bendigo and Melbourne who can be quite helpful. I have lots of photo's but only of few names to go with them

Cheers from Linda
