It is possible George came out with his family when he was approx 7 yrs of age and I am not sure if he had any siblings. I am currently waiting on death certificate of George from a relative in NSW. I am not sure..but wsa told George (and family) may have lived in Victoria and other states besides QLD. Someone did find a Bradley family on 1841 census, but I have not heard from this person again and not sure if this is my family

Hope someone can help

I just found out that there is a maritime museum in NW Australia and it is focused around a shipwreck from 1622. The ship was the Tryall...which is the same vessel that brought my ancestor Thomas Farmer to Jamestown Colony in North America in 1616! I now have more history to add to the family history treasure. I am excited! Everyone be well and stay well. Michael.

Hi Shauna,

I discovered your website through 'Australian Family Tree Connections'.My Great great grandfather William Pomeroy and his wife Ann came from Cornwall/Devon to Moonta in the 1850's as (I believe) a copper miner, their first children were born in Ballarat so I'm assuming they moved from Moonta to Ballarat, they then moved around NSW. I have found some locations with big gaps, this has been hampered by variations in the spelling of their surname which changed on various records from Pomeroy to Pomroy.

Thanks for your website, very excited to find your website!!

Hello! I wonder if anyone could help with researching my ancestor Richard Mew?

Born in about 1814 in Uckfield, Sussex, he joined the Marines at an early age. By 1838 he was in Australia (New South Wales?) and had married a girl Margaret.

His first daughter Mary Ann was born in about 1839, his second Margaret in about 1841 and third Eliza in about 1843 (apparently in Sidney or Adelaide).
