No, but thanks for the warning Sherry.  Having been without my computer for 2 weeks pre Christmas due to virus, I've no wish to let this interrupt my research now!  All the best - hope it's soon resolved for you.

Is anyone else getting spam and virus laden email from the connection service via Ancestry.com myfamily connect?

I keep blocking the sender but they get around it some how.  This is the latest and having already been to one of the Links "she" includes, I know better than to click it.

My great-great-grandmother born 1808 in Greenville, South Carolina. I cannot understnad how Ancestry has her birth date but not her mother and father's name. I cannot go on in my family line without their names. Her name was Mary Harriet Jackson. Are their any Jackson's out there from South Carolina that have here family in her family tree? I would appreciate any help?

I have used Ancestry for over 3 years and love it. I am one of several BALLEW familys on Ancestry. My family is from North Georgia and North Carolina.

How do I become a member of this group? I'm still a little computer illiterate.

Larry,

They should be in the order that is online. Marriage Dates a very helpful. Even if you use Abt, Bed, Aft. type of dates.

Russ, thanks for the quick response. I'm going on a research trip next week and hope to have a lot to add.

I'll check out your blog.

Cecily,

Easy. In the Plan Workspace, of 2010, click on New Tree, but a button in the Download from Ancestry, and you can download your tree, NOT as a GEDCOM, but the file will include your Images.

You can merge that download into your existing tree, or create a new one.

I have a Family Tree Maker Blog that shows you how to do this.
