Just like other genealogists, adoptees are searching for our roots. We just start out with less information than others. We share the same goals and use the same tools, including vital records, online databases, and now genetic genealogy.

Comment by Richard Hill on October 2, 2012 at 7:42am DNA testing revealed my biological surname and confirmed the identify of my birth father 25 years after his death. The whole story is revealed in my new book, "Finding Family: My Search for Roots and the Secrets in My DNA." Preview it at Smashwords, which has all the eBook formats. Read reviews at Amazon, which has the printed book and the Kindle edition.

Comment by Richard Hill on August 13, 2012 at 10:18am Sandy and others, I have not been very active on this site in a long time. One reason is that I have been finalizing a book on my adoption search story, including the many types of DNA testing that lead me to the truth about my birth. I hope to have the book out in the next couple weeks.
Comment by Sandra Lea Costa on August 13, 2012 at 9:29am My mother gave up my brother as a baby, his adopted name is Robert Nichols born in California between the years of 1946-1949. This is about all the information I have. Not sure if you need my mothers name, if so, Elizabeth Marie Stenquist Kresan. Thank you, Sandy
