DNA testing revealed my biological surname and confirmed the identify of my birth father 25 years after his death. Sandy and others, I have not been very active on this site in a long time. One reason is that I have been finalizing a book on my adoption search story, including the many types of DNA testing that lead me to the truth about my birth. I hope to have the book out in the next couple weeks.

My mother gave up my brother as a baby, his adopted name is Robert Nichols born in California between the years of 1946-1949. This is about all the information I have.  Not sure if you need my mothers name, if so, Elizabeth Marie Stenquist Kresan. Thank you, Sandy

My husband was adopted in 1955 in Florida...it was a closed adoption...both of his adopted parents are deceased...he would like to find out something of his heritage, for health reasons, but is not necessarily interested in locating his birth parents...can anyone give me any ideas for how to locate information on his birth family? Thanks!

I have no adoptee stories but have a freind who has Romany ancestors that were adopted and would love to help her and also I have a grandaugher whos great grandma was adpoted so hope to break down that wall one day so we can find more about her history

Can anyone help me find my mother-in-law's birth mother? She was born 12 November, 1949 near Skegness, Lincolnshire, England and lived at the orphanage for 6 months until she was adopted by the Snowden family. They named her Sandra Elizabeth. She has her birth certificate, and the mother's name is listed as Ann Cooper Hepburn. Does anyone know about British adoptions?

Adoption search occurs in both directions. Adoptees search for birth families. And birth families search for the children given up. Anyone interested in adoption search from any viewpoint is welcome to join. Maybe you can try out our new discussion forum and tell us your story. I'm part of a birth family searching for twins who were born between 1966 and 1970 in Wisconsin and given up for adoption (or taken by the state and then adopted by someone) I assume it's okay if I join the group too? If anyone is interested in the story, I'd be glad to post it!
