Genealogy Wise

The Genealogy & Family History Social Network

If you're researching your Acadian/Cajun ancestry, this site is invaluable! You can look up your ancestors' names (make sure you try lots of different spellings, or use their surname index) and find baptism, burial, and marriage records - including original images! Very cool.

I found this site to be very helpful also. It is pretty busy but there are many links on the left hand side - the Acadia Place Names is great because it shows the places "old" name with reference to the current names.

If your Surname is "Bourgeois" or are related to a "Bourgeois", you may find my site Histoire-de-Bourgeois interesting,

The Public Archives of Nova Scotia also has links to online Databases which are helpfull if you are doing anything past the 1755 time frame. I suggest that those interested take a look.
