The Genealogy & Family History Social Network

I recently put up a family website on MyFamily.com. It seemed like a good thing to do at the time.
The family tree is on Ancestry.com which I subscribe to. Cool enough.

At first, family members were excited and some actually contributed some information (my ulterior motive). Now I'm beginning to get emails stating that the site is 'confusing'.

I'd like to find a site that's easy to navigate, easy to upload/download gedcom(s), where you can add pictures, add biographies, display printable family trees and of course allow collaboration.

Is there something better than MyFamily.com?

I must say that I was attracted to the idea of the integration of MyFamily, Ancestry.com & Family Tree Maker 2009. I'm not so enthused anymore. I don't want to give a bunch of tutorials to my cousins and the 'confusion' is turning them off!
Help!

Peace,

Oh, there are so many...
I have list on my site and often tweet when I update with yet another one.

To know what to look for you need to figure out what it is that confuses them.
For example, as a genealogist you may want matches with other trees, but your visitor may not like the added clutter, or browse to the other tree and get lost.

Generally, I'd look for a site with a clean, simple interface.
You can also use a package such as TNG and customise the layout.
George.

I agree with you. I am not a newcomer of online trees, but I really had a problem "seeing" a tree that someone had invited me to. Further, this other person, haven't found our connection yet, invited me, but in doing so, created a second online account at MyFamily.com as I already had an account. I haven't figured out if this multiple online account is the issue or the confusion piece that I have found.

I am not sure that "MyFamily, Ancestry.com & Family Tree Maker 2009" are integrated. They still are pretty separate website. Not to mention other members of the former The Generations Network now Ancestry.cpm websites.

I'll be looking for what you find.

Thank you,

Russ
