Comment by Randall Andrews on October 19, 2012 at 5:39am Hello all, my great grandmother Kittie M Powell, was born Sep 13, 1875 and died Dec 28, 1953. She married Elias Milton Harrington and resided in Robeson county their entire life. They had five children one of which my grandmother (Ellen) who married into the Andrews. Anyway, i have hit a wall when it comes to the Powell side of the search after her. I found some info that her parents names might have been Ailey Stanley and Nicklos(?) Powell.
Comment by Cheryl Young on October 18, 2012 at 9:01pm The farthest back I have gone with the Powell line is Howell Powell born in 1820 In Monmouth NJ and died 1860 in Mississippi.
Comment by Phyllis Drake Jacobs on August 9, 2012 at 4:45am Looking for North Carolina Powells, in Iredell county. There is Powell road there. I think my Powell lady married Samuel Riley.

Robeson County, NC Powell: Haplogroup I1 // .
Searching for other potential Powell DNA donors with roots to Robeson Co., NC and neighboring counties. This includes the Douglas Powell family (Haplo I1): some of this family went to Georgia (Nathaniel Powell to Dooly/Lee/Worth Co.s), Alabama (Monroe Co. AL and other counties) and Mississippi (Nicholas Powell to Marion Co., MS, Daniel Powell to Carroll Co., MS.) If you know anyone with documented roots to this area (hunches count, too, LOL) please contact me & let's get the pieces to this genealogy puzzle into place.

Comment by David McKeown on April 10, 2011 at 7:46am Greetings everyone. My name is David McKeown and I am researching my Powell family. I am looking for information that relates specifically to Archibald Powell(1763-1836)who married Sarah Ten Broeck(1766-1855) around 1792. I have had reasonable success tracing data up to Archibald but beyond him is a blank. I am fairly confident he traces back to the "Long Island'' Powell's but am missing that link. Any help would be appreciated. Again for clarity below is a brief overview
Archibald Powell/Sarah Ten Broeck
AbramT Powell/Sarah Field
Joseph Powell/Lucinda Hosner
Fred Cecil Powell/Grace Arnold
ElizabethPowell/John Morony
Mary Morony/ Donald McKeown
David McKeown (ME)
Thank You!
David
