Jethro Honor Powell Tennessee/Missouri/Illinois
I am just beginning my search on May POWELL born april of 1900 in I believe Il, She was married to Aud Dallas in carrier Mills Il., her father was Jethro Honor POWELL b abt 1873 in Missouri and her mother was Elizabeth TANNER b abt 1875 in Dykersburg Williamson Il.(Elizabeth's father was James TANNER and mother Catherine).. I believe Jethro married a second time to Nora TANNER, the sister of Elizabeth., likely after the death of Elizabeth.I believe Jethro's father to be William R POWELL b abt 1834 in Tn, and a Mary A surname unkown b 1835 also in Tn. The information here is from the census. I have never done any research this far back in the US. So far all my research has been in other countries, I am not experienced with US research and need some help, please so if this family sounds familiar to you please let me know. May POWELL was my former mother in law and I am researching her to fill in my daughter's family history. Any help or suggestions will be appriciated.

Since I have not been able to get further back than Honor POWELL I have tried to do some research on the siblings of May POWELL, so far there Is a brother Floyd POWELL b 25 mar 1904 and d Nov 1974, there is a sister Julia b abt 1907, there are two more children, Earl b about 1916, and Allaceb abt 1919 I believe the last two childen are the children with Honor's second wife, Nora E.I found them on the 1920 census for Carrier Mills, Saline county Ill. I have doubts about the man, James CARIDA listed as "father-in-law" He may be the step father of Nora E but i do not believe he is her father.
