Graves PENNINGTON died around 1853 in Nashville Tn.  He owned the land that OLE OPRYLAND stood on.  There is a bend in the Cumberland river that was called PENNINGTON bend.  His mother was probably a GRAVES also... so he married a distant cousin.

I have also been in touch with probable cousins.  They changed their name to PENDLETON, among others.

looking for descendants of Graves PENNINGTON and either of his wives' Franky GRAVES and Martha BONDURANT.  He was born in 1783.  He Died in Nashville, Tn.  Had 3 sons by his first marraige, John Winfield P., James T. P., and William P.  He had a number of children by Martha, whom he married in 1823 i think. John and James Married cousins, John marrying Elizabeth DODSON and James marrying Margeret Ann SAMPLE (her mom was a dodson).  Graves and James died within a year of each other, around 1854.

I am descended from Joseph Pinnington ( Pennington) and  his wife Harriet Chiswell ( Chesell) Joseph was born in Atherton in England in 1787. Three of his sons Christopher, Benjamin and Reuben were sent here to Australia as convicts and their name changed to Peninton. Reuben was my gr-gr grandfather

I descend from Selina Pennington (b. 1817 NC) who married Henry Shankle. David Pennington was born 14 November 1778 in Anson County, North Carolina. David was the son of David Pennington and Lydia Gilliam [source for Lydia's surname: Iris Hurst (1985) Pennington Pedigrees 17(2), p.57]. David Pennington married Nancy Harris on 22 December 1803. David died 22 January 1864 and is buried in the Pennington Cemetery, Stanly County, North Carolina.
Nancy Harris was born 28 September 1785. She was the daughter of Brantley Harris and Elizabeth Edwards. (Note that Elizabeth Edwards Harris Harris was married first to Brantly Harris and second to Arthur Harris. Nothing new on my line but I have not been doing very much research as I am in the tax business and was working about 60 hours a week before April 15. Also I have been stuck on this line for a long time.

I am looking for information on Isaac Pennington born 16 May 1715. He was the son of Abraham Pennington. Isaac married
Mary Williams 8 Dec1733 in Cecil Co., Maryland. My Williams line (Providence, wife Sarah, Joseph Williams, wife Lydia and Ann Paulson/Poulson) sold land in Cecil Co., 1736 while they were living in Orange Co, Virginia. The Penningtons were also living in Orange Co. at the time.

The land records for Abraham indicate the same land -- Pembrook and Emory's Choice. I am trying to connect this information and find more information on Mary Williams, wife of Isaac Pennington. Tina
