Message Boards
A good resource tool are the use of Message Boards. You can look for messages regarding surnames, localities, and people looking for family, ancestors, and the like. You can also post a message there yourself. Don't get impatient if you don't get an answer right away; it could take several weeks or months, or perhaps never. I have gotten great luck in my own message posts because I gave specific accurate data as to names, dates, etc. I managed to get a lot of great leads this way.

I can't stress this research tool enough.
2 years ago I had about 700 individuals in my Family Tree. As a DIRECT result of the Message.Boards, I've been able to add 1,100+ more ancestors (all verified, researched, and documented) to my Family Tree.
In addition, I've made several friends and new-found relatives who happened to take an interest in me. Many were either professional (or semi-professional) genealogists who were very happy to help an American cousin (primo) with ancestors from Mexico!
I was also fortunate to be invited by them to join their Genealogy Groups for serious genealogy research.
Naturally, they were very happy to receive my genealogy information because many of them find it difficult to navigate the Internet from Mexico.
So together, my Mexican primos and I were able to increase our Family Trees! -

Busco la familia de mi Madre, nacio el 16 de Marzo, 1904 en LOS MOCHIS/EL CAMPO/SIN, no se nu nombre Mexicano completo/posible: MARIA HERIBERTA ALVARADO O MARIA GALVAN, su Madre: FLORENTINA O JUANA ALVARADO O JUANA VALENZUELA, ella murio cerca de 1908 en LOS MOCHIS,SIN, su Padre: RAFAEL O MANUEL ALVARADO, despues de la muerte de mi Abuela, el se caso con ROSENDA ALGONDA O FLORES, ultimo contacto con ellos era cerca de 1955 en MILPITAS O EL QUEMADO DE MAZATLAN,SIN, mi Madre emigro a EEUU cerca de 1917-1920, primero vivo en LAKE ELSINORE/RIVERSIDE,CALIF,EEUU, se murio en SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO/SAN CLEMENTE,CALIF,EEUU en 1979. Los siguiente apellidos son de la familia pero no se como: BRIONES, CLIQUERI, ALVARDO, GALAVIZ, SANDOVAL Y VALENZUELA. Se murio mi Madre con el nombre: ERIBERTA A.
