The Hinkles from my branch came to Garrard Co., KY in early 1800's. Anthony Hinkle is as far back as I have gotten, he was born in 1810 and left KY for Arkansas around 1842.

Trying to locate information on James S. Hinkle from Kentucky in 1839. Trying to ascertain his lineage to the Henckel Family in Pennslvania.

I'm having problems uploading a photo. Would someone advise me?

Robert, that would be awesome if I was related to the Cagle clan in NC! I can't find much info on my greatgrandfather, Elijah Cagle, born in 1870.

Hi Mary,

I am interested in learning more about the Hinkle/Cagle connection in North Carolina. I am on 23andme.com and have made contact with cousins who are related to the Cagle line from Rowan County (1700s), North Carolina. I believe this must be my connection to them. If it is, you (Mary) ought to be related to them too. They are family members who live in Texas.
Best to all,
Kevin

Troi, Looked at your tree but don't know if we tie in anywhere, at least not yet.

Does anyone know anything about William Hinkle who married Eleanor Hunter 1793 in Rowan Co. NC and moved to Shelby Co. KY?

Lisa, my Hinkle's are from the West Virginia & Ohio areas, though my grandfather Harley Hinkle settled in Virginia ( http://shumakertroi.tribalpages.com ).
I am stuck at William Harvey Hinkle:

KLINE CEMETERY, PENDLETON, WV, USA
m. RATLIFF, Anna Rosette F.

I don't know if we have any Hinkles in common, but you can check out the tree.

Lisa - I am so happy you found me. I am sorry I just now saw your post today. You are indeed related to our Hinkles. William Hinkle was my husband's great grandfather. All of our Hinkles except for William's brother John, stayed in Arkansas and Anthony & William are buried in same cemetery in Greenbrier, Ark. In fact, all of this branch of the Hinkles from Anthony are all still in Arkansas. That is why I know just about everything about them.
