Hello
I am Susan--SUZ--Cruse in the US. I am Deaf. I really love the societies that have been offered through Genealogy Wise. Without an interpreter--generally refused by genealogy groups--attending group meetings is an impossibility. You all, however, make it very beautifully possible to be part of the family history network. I am looking forward to this connection. Thank You. Suz

Good evening Sheila
As Chairman of the FFHS I am very, very keen that we DO engage with societies, they ARE the Federation, although the perception is that the Committee is the Federation!!!
I am raising the awareness of our members in the family history world and in particular trying to persuade the vast number of new family historians to join a society, either one where their interests lie or one near to their home.
I recently wrote an article to this effect for Your Family Tree. Magazine.
This forum is something new and I have already set up our own forum BUT I believe that any method of getting the message about societies across is to be used.
If there is anything else you would like to know about what we are doing now, please email me at Chairman_at_FFHS.org.uk, you should replace the _at_ with the @ symbol.
If you ever feel that you want to get involved again there is always a place for a valued family historian, BUT please don't take this as pressure on you to come back!!!
