As I mentioned I am reading DEVIL'S BROOD which is packed full of interesting bits of history. It is interesting that Eleanor's sons were knighted so late, the politics is very interesting to…Continue

I am in the process of reading DEVIL'S BROOD by Alfred Duggan. It is proving very interesting - "The whole pageant and pattern of medieval life unfolds in this history of Henry II and his sons particularly Richard Coeur de Lion and John of Magna Carta fame born of the beautiful and turbulent Eleanor of Aquitaine," (front cover). It is not indexed though, but does include a bibliography and a cool map on the inside covers.

I'll be back with my tree soon. For now I can tell you my line starts with the Parkers and Bullers. The Bullers go back to Eleanor.

I have added all I can to the tribal pages site! One line and a line that went to the side for a bit then came back in! Now to find some cousins!

Hi Timothy! I have  a couple of questions....We have the same line down to Joan Goushill where I am descended from her daughter Katherine. I see thepeerage.com  has a daughter for Joan named Margaret. Is she the same as your Margery Stanley? Thepeerage.com also indicates that Margaret/Margery married William Troutbeck. Is this the same surname as your Thomas Torbock?

Timothy, we're related through John.  I recognize some of the other names, too, but they're not names on my tree.  Why don't you come by the chat at some point and introduce yourself.  If Caren's in at the time, she can set you up so you can add your branch to the Tribal Pages tree we're all adding to.  She mentioned that she has to work this weekend and won't be around much, but come on by so we can meet you!
