My ancestor Samuel Carr was b. 1768 in NJ (or NY). He married Mary Post abt. 1792. Some of their children were David (b. 1793), Alpha, Robert and Gabriel. I believe he may be the Samuel Carr in the Orange Co, NY 1800 census. He did buy property in Wantage, Sussex, NJ in 1803. David m. Rebecca Evans there in 1814. Samuel sold the farm in 1815 and all of these Carrs moved to Wayne Co (then Ontario Co) NY. There the other Carrs married and started families. Samuel and Mary died there, and David, Robert and Alpha moved to MI with their families in the 1840s. Gabriel Carr moved to Ohio with his family. I have never seen the Carr name spelled other than CARR but I haven't found many original records. I'm looking for Samuel's father and other children of Samuel and Mary. Any one know anything about this line of Carrs?
