I am doing an DAR search for my patriot that is not in the data base of the DAR as yet. I have everything I need for him. The problem is his daughter. They lived across the creek from each other for years and after her mother died the patriot shows up in the 1860 census living with her. She has also named one of her daughters after her mother, Rosanna, not a common name. Her brother has even named one of his sons William Welsh after her husband. Can't find a birth for her in Huntingdon County, Pa I need to find a connection with sources to get the DAR approval. do you have any suggestions. Dianne

You say the patriot ancestor was living with the daughter. Did he leave a will when he died? When the mother died and he moved in with daughter, what happened to the land he was living on? Check land records. You mention that there is also a son - if you can prove that the son's relationship to the father, and prove the brother sister relationship, then you have your proof.

Do you need to prove the father daughter relationship? Or the daughter's birth or what? Not really sure what you need exactly.

again where dd the daughter die and what year? What about her marriage record. Give me dates to work with allright. Im hopefull that we can prove this for you!!!
Ancestry had Joshua Stackhouse all screwed up. There are 2 joshua's one born in 1822 one in1825. Both in Ohio. One in Clinton County, one in monroe county which borders WV. Mine is from Monroe. When you type in his info to Ancestry the history of the other comes up. I was going with him until I found there were 2 in the 1850 census. Mine says father and mother unknow. I have 5 census on him with father unknow on all. So i guess thats it for Joshua. Dianne
Your Isaac Stackhouse has been proven and is the dar data base sweetie.. We just have to prove that Josuha is his son right...
Only two of his kids have been proven at this point in time.
