Unknown Picture

Hello,
I have a picture of some people, possibly relatives, that I found in a box of family photos. It appears to have been taken at a picture studio in Mankato, MN a long time ago. So far, I have not been able to find any references to that studio.

Where is the best place to post it for assistance?

Do you have any family names that go with the photos and dates. If so post the Names. People would be more likely to respond or have interest in the photos.

Unfortunately, I don't know the names of the anyone in the family. This is what I'm trying to find out - "who were they?".

Hi Harlan-
If you do a search in the Groups under photo there are three groups that could help you. Do you have the name of the Studio? Have you tried googling it? Or is there a specific address for the Studio? Also, where did the photocome from? Were they in an album with other known family?

Hi Kate,
Thanks for replying. The photographer is Leavitt & Keene, headquartered in Mankato, MN. According to the Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS), George Eldon Keene, partnered with a number of other photographers that did their business on railroad cars, typically 1890's through 1910's. Unfortunately, the MNHS only has one photo listed in their on-line gallery.

I will post the photo and information I currently have in the groups and see what happens.

Can you add under "my photos" on your page of Genealogy wise? I have not yet done this so am not sure if we can add text as well. Alternatively, you could load onto Flickr with associated comments and see if that helps. Or Photobucket.com

Also if you have it loaded here, it is easy to refer to the link in emails or discussion groups etc.

You can also submit unknown photos to Dead Fred
