My great grandfather was John "Jack" Kiely from the Offaly/Tipp area. He was born in 1897. His father was Patrick and mother was Mary Wood.
Hi Sarah, Did he live anywhere near Dunkerrin Birr ?or Roscrea
Hi Geraldine

I know of some Kiely's here in Offaly. Have you checked the National Archives of Ireland site. Its very useful for back-tracking records. Let me know if I can give you any more info. Meanwhile, happy searching. Regards. Lorraine
Hello Lorraine, Thanks for replying, I am trying to solve a family mystery , my first step is to find out what house a Mrs Kiely lived in or above the gate house of one of the big house's near Roscrea.around years from 1880 -1900 ? and why two little boys John and Christopher Kiely , who were they ? the name Jackson appears in that Mystery. very strange. Christopher Jackson
Hi Mary, I am trying to put together John Kiely born 1891  for some reason was born in Wexford and taken back to Dunkerrin,,father Thomas Kiely and I believe his brother Christopher ,Thank you I found John married a Delahunt ,but have not found christopher in 1901 census at all. he is a real headache there is a real mystery ,that I have a huge problem with, the names Kiely and Jackson were used for some reason known to himself. There is some connection somewhere.
Dunkerrin, Co Offaly, Ireland ,Kiely, Keily, Keilly , I would be greatful for any Info .

Hi Geraldine,

I have a Christopher Kiely marrying in Cashel Co Tipperary 1/2/1916 to a Ellen Maher,he was full age.

Christopher states that his father was Patrick Kiely.I do not know any other information at the moment.

Also can not find a death for Christopher.

My GGG Grandfather was Thomas Kiely... I do not know anything about him, except he and his wife had a daughter named Catherine who came to the U.S. and was married to James Calighan (Callahan) in Holiyoak, Mass. 1859.
