Hi!

I'm currently in Alachua County, and have roots here dating back to before the 1850 Census. Florida families are Bauknight, Emerson, Clyatt, McKinney, DuPree, Smith, Whitehurst, Hunter, Beacham, Holtzclaw, and my BRICK WALL, KNIGHT!!!

My gg/grandmother was Henrietta Knight, born somewhere in north Florida--Columbia/New River (later Bradford) County area, and I *cannot* find her parents.  Born in 1859, and can't find her in the 1860 census.  I'm convinced she went by another name as a baby.  By 1880 of course she was married to Daniel Bradbury Hunter.  her earlier censuses have her parents born in Georgia.  Her later censuses have them born in Florida.  I suspect Florida, since as you grow older you know more about your family roots.  She probably always heard that her "family" was from Georgia, so assumed her parents were born there...  whatevs...  I believe she is descended from the "many-John-ed" Knights that flooded the South, but don't yet know how.  There are lots of lineages out there, but not all the males have their lines posted.

My husband's Florida lines are Lloyd, Umstead, Whitehead and Willett SNELL b. 1810 in GA, lived in Pulaski Co. GA moved to south Florida is my brick wall on his side...

Any dialog on the above names is welcome.  :-]  See ya'll!  Dori Emerson Lloyd  :-]
