My latest GURD ancestor is my grandfather George Charles Gurd born at Hampreston, nr Wimborne in 1887. He was the son of George Frederick Gurd born 1867 at Lytchett Matravers and Charlotte Emily Smart born 1863 at Corfe Mullen, Poole. George Charles was one of seven children, two of which died as babies.
George Charles married my grandmother Kezia Gertrude Hart in 1909 and they had five children, my father being the second youngest born 1916. Sadly I dont remember my grandmother who died before I was born and I only have vague memories of my grandfather.
Living with George Frederick on the 1911 census was Leslie George Smart born 1907 at Wimborne and if anyone has any information on him I would appreciate to hear form you.
