Importance of Posting All Your Family Records and Other Information Online

I just wanted to make a comment about posting all the family data you have online, where search engines can find it. Much, if not most, of my family genealogy information has been found because other people posted great quantities of information about their families online. This information provided me clues I needed. In the first instance I was looking for my Mother's Mother's family, the Potters of Cooper Co., MO. My first Google search turned up a 1911 newspaper article someone had posted online, with a complete description of my Great grandfather Abraham and each of his children. I now have some of that line back to William the Conqueror due to other people's work. Just two nights ago I increased my Father's side by 2 generations because of a website someone put up. That takes me to my 3rd Great grandparents. And I have used the White Pages online to find present day relatives who can fill in other gaps in the record, and who I can share all my info with. We're all crawling around this one big web and finding our way with each other's help.
