I am looking into ancestors of mine in 19th century Indiana.  James S. Hinkle married to Eliza Walker.  Trying to ascertain if this line of Hinkles are connected to the Henckles from Lancaster County Pennsylvania.

Hi Therese, My Great great grandfathers wife , my grt-grt grandmother was Sarah Hinkle . They had my grt grandfather in Ohio and he later moved near Edwardsport&Bicknell IN. Their name was Hoover and McLin. Bev beverwat@yahoo.com

My GG Grandfather was Hamet Delenar HInkle from Vincennes Indianna.  HIs father was James Samuel from Shelby & Jefferson County Kentucky.

Originally the family came from Lancaster County PA with a German immigrant Lutheran Pastor Anthony Henckel in 1711.

Where in Indiana did these Hinkles live? My husband has Hinkle relatives that lived in Tipton and Cass counties, and their family was from West Virginia. There is a Hinkle book out there about the descendants of a Reverend Anthony Henckel from Germany, too.

Hello Katie,

My GG Grandfather was from Vincennes Indianna.  His people moved there from Shelby County Kentucky, by way of Nort Carolina in the early 19th century.  His name was Hamet Delener Hinkle, and his father was James Samuel Hinkle.

We are direct descendants from Reverand Anthony Henckel from Germany.

If you have any ancestors from Kentucky, North Carolina please reply.
