Gauvin family of Charters Towers

Does anyone live in or around Charters Towers and have old photos from when Gauvin street was first named or any other details along this thread? Also on this thread, I am trying to find pictures or documents relating to George Pollock speaker of the house in qld state parliament between 1932 and march 1939 (when he committed suicide in his parliamentary office). His mother was Naomie Gauvin and his father was Matthew Pollock. This is all the information I have on George at this stage.

I may be able to assist with some photos of George Pollock however I would like to know the reason for seeking information on my grandfather.

Hi Bob, I am interested in any links to the Gauvin family of Charters towers as I am descended from Louis Henry Gauvin and Harriet Sartins daughter Frances Jane Gauvin who married my GG grandfather William Vickery. Sadly my grandparents are both deceased and left the family with little information and no photos, thus the difficulty researching the family history.
