I have many family historians ask me exactly where to find the colonial records for their families. It's just not that simple to answer. It greatly depends on the individual colony and the immediate area. Each colony organized their records differently from others. For me, personally, I've found records tucked away in local churches and I've found them stored in wooden crates underneath an old hardware store. These records are stored in many unique places. Learning the history of the area will enable you with great clues and hints to their discoveries.  What are some of the unique places that you've found genealogy records?
