family research

I'm new to this group and I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly. I have been researching my Mother's side of my family tree, and it has taken me back to Virginia and West Virginia. As all researchers, I can use all the help I can find.

The family names that I think someone can help me with are:

Matthias Hite B- Abt 1740 and D- 9 Jan 1823 Harrison Co. Virginia. Matthias married Sarah Daughtery in 1768 in Frederick Co. Va. She was B-abt 1747 and D- 13 April 1820. Matthias was a Lt. and Capt, in the 8th Va. Regiment during the Revolution.

Joseph Longacre B-1745 Frederick Co. Va. and married Elizabeth Watson. Joseph was a Major in the Va. Militia during the Revolution. The Longacres' can be traced back to Sweden.

Peter Hess B- 1755 Philadelphia Pa. D- 1833 Monongalia WV. He married Elizabeth (last name unknown possibly Lovett) on the 4 March 1779

James Scott B- June 1764 in Hampshire Co. Va.  Married abt 1769 to Amelia Daugherty.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
